Education

Rural populations often suffer from ill health due to a lack of knowledge about health. We provide health education classes in the remote, rural areas of Mahbubnagar. Two young men who are based in Dokur and Kotakadra respectively teach in 6 villages, educating children on important topics such as hygiene, tuberculosis and fevers. The IRHS teachers have lesson plans for each topic. At the end of each lesson students are given a simple handout with the major points to remember. The handout includes a relevant drawing of the subject. Children are encouraged to take the handout home and to teach their parents and siblings what they have learned.
